AUTHORS GUIDE International journal of Economics Education Research (IJEER) is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to encourage academic discourse among Economics teachers, researchers, policy makers, curriculum planners, educational administrators at all educational levels. The journal provides a platform for publication of research articles in areas of teaching and learning of Economics, teacher education, education finance, curriculum studies, human resource management, pedagogical issues, socio-economic issues, and so on. The journal welcomes original empirical investigation that presents a variety of theoretical perspective and methodological approaches. Submission of articles Authors are requested to submit their paper electronically through the journal website: https://iafee.org/journals-ijeer-jeee/ijeer. In a case of inability to submit online, the author should contact the managing editor at ijeer@iafee.org to discuss other submission alternatives. Submission checklist

  1. Authors should ensure that the following items are presented before submission
  2. One author has be designated as the corresponding author with contact details as follows;
    • Name
    • E-mail
    • Full address
    • Phone Number
    • Institutional affiliation
  3. The manuscript must present
    • The topic
    • Abstract
    • Keywords
    • All figures titled
  4. The manuscript must be well edited and prepared using MS word and double spaced.
  5. Originality of the manuscript is compulsory. All manuscripts will be subjected to similarity test.
  6. All references mentioned must have been cited in-text
  7. All author(s) must have materially participated in the research preparation.
  8. The manuscript must not have been submitted for publication or under consideration elsewhere.

Changes to Authorship Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript is accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request such a change, the Editor must receive letter from correspondent on the reason for the change in author list and written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. Copyright Upon acceptance of Article structure an acceptance letter will be sent. Abstract State a brief description of the research which should not be more than 250 words Key words Major key words in the research must be highlighted. Introduction State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results. Literature Review Current and relevant literature review is necessary. Research method This should be fully discussed. The authors should make sure all necessary details are included. The editors require that the instrument for data collection be included as appendix (where primary data is used), Clear information about the source(s) of data are needed. Results Results should be clear and concise. Discussion This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature. Recommendation State recommendation with respect to the findings of the study Conclusions The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section. References You should ensure that all citation in text are references using APA 6th edition style of referencing Appendices If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as A, B, C. etc. Other important information

    • The manuscript should be typed in font size 12 using times new roman style
    • Manuscripts should be at 5000 words and not more that 8000 words.
    • Authors will be asked to complete a Journal Publishing Agreement.
    • An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript.

Peer Review Procedure

At the International Journal of Economics Education Research (IAFEE), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarly integrity and ensuring the quality of the research we publish. Our peer review process involves the following key stages:

  1. Initial Evaluation: Upon submission, manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the Editor-In-Chief to assess their alignment with the journal’s scope and standards. Manuscripts that meet the criteria proceed to the peer review phase.
  2. Double-Blind Peer Review: Each submitted manuscript is reviewed by at least two anonymous referees with expertise in the relevant field. This double-blind peer review process ensures impartiality and rigorous evaluation.
  3. Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess manuscripts based on their contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation. Their comprehensive evaluation provides valuable insights for authors to enhance the quality of their work.
  4. Editorial Decision: The Editor-In-Chief reviews the referees’ reports and makes informed decisions regarding the manuscript’s publication. Authors are notified of the decision within two months of submission, acknowledging that the review process may extend to three months in certain cases due to the volume of submissions.

Duties of Editorial Board Members

  • Identifying and selecting expert referees.
  • Providing guidance to the Editor-In-Chief on journal policies and ethical considerations.

Reviewer Responsibilities

The responsibilities of our reviewers are crucial for maintaining the integrity of the review process:

Contribution to Editorial Decision Making: Reviewers aid the Editor-In-Chief in making informed decisions and provide constructive feedback to authors.

Timeliness: Reviewers promptly inform the Editor-In-Chief if they are unable to review a manuscript within a reasonable timeframe.

Maintaining Confidentiality: Manuscripts under review are handled confidentially and must not be shared without explicit authorization.

Impartiality: Reviews are conducted objectively, focusing on the content of the manuscript rather than criticizing authors personally.

Recognizing Sources: Reviewers identify relevant previous research that authors may have overlooked.

Declaration of Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers openly declare any conflicts of interest and refrain from reviewing manuscripts in cases where potential bias may exist.

  5. Acknowledgement of Sources: Authors properly attribute prior work and influential sources.
  6. Authorship: Authorship is granted to those who have significantly contributed to the study.
  7. Hazards and Subjects: Authors identify hazards and potential human or animal subjects involved.
  8. Fundamental Errors and Retraction: Authors promptly inform the Editor-In-Chief of significant errors and cooperate in corrections or retractions.
  9. Withdrawal Policy: Authors adhere to the withdrawal policy, notifying the Editor-In-Chief within one month of submission.

Plagiarism Policy:

IAFEE is committed to combating plagiarism in all forms. Manuscripts submitted to IAFEE are screened using plagiarism detection software. Authors found to have engaged in plagiarism or academic misconduct will face appropriate actions.

Charges for Authors – International Journal of Economics Education Research (IJEER)

We are committed to maintaining the highest quality standards and facilitating the dissemination of scholarly research through the International Journal of Economics Education Research (IJEER). To support our operational costs and the continued availability of published content, we have established the following charges for authors:

Submission Charge: Authors are required to pay a non-refundable submission fee of five thousand naira (NGN 5,000.00) for each submitted paper. This fee helps offset the administrative costs associated with vetting, processing and managing submitted manuscripts. Please note that the payment of the submission fee does not guarantee the acceptance of the paper for publication.

Article Processing Charge (APC): Upon successful peer review and acceptance of a manuscript for publication in IJEER, authors are required to pay an article processing charge (APC) of twenty thousand naira (NGN 25,000.00). This charge contributes to covering the costs of editorial processes, typesetting, online hosting, and the publication of the print version. All APC payments are to be made through Fidelity Bank Plc, Nigeria, to the account of International Association for Economics Educators, Account Number: 6060266517

Waiver Policy: Please note that IJEER does not offer fee waivers for authors submitting their articles. All accepted papers are subject to the article processing charge outlined above.

Peer Review Compensation: In our commitment to maintaining a high-quality peer review process, peer reviewers are compensated for their valuable service through the article submission charge paid by authors for each reviewed manuscript.

Operational Costs and Crossref Membership: The article processing charge contributes to the operational sustainability of IJEER. This includes maintaining online and print publication, ensuring continued online availability, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the journal. Additionally, IJEER is a proud member of Crossref, which incurs membership and DOI registration fees for published articles on an annual basis.

We are actively exploring alternative payment methods to provide authors with more convenient options. Updates regarding such methods will be posted on our website.
